Susan Varghese joined Bigs & Littles NYC Mentoring as the Transition Director for Girls Quest’s merger with Bigs & Littles NYC in July 2012 and became our Program Director in November 2012. Susan then served as the Senior Director of Mentoring Programs and Support Services, followed by her current role as Vice President of Programs. Susan oversees all of Bigs and Littles NYC programs and services, ensuring quality and overall program delivery success. Additionally, Susan supports all the program staff and serves as the Educational Coordinator and Field Instructor for MSW graduate students.

Susan has her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University. She is an accomplished leader in program and volunteer management, with extensive experience in developing and supporting mentoring programs that exceed national retention norms. She was previously the Program Director and the Mentoring Program Director at Girls Quest, a youth development program for girls from lower-income families.

She is a certified Mentoring Supervisor/JP Morgan Chase Fellow and formally served as a co-chair of the Provider Council of the Mentor New York. Susan is a recipient of Mentor NY’s Mentor Coordinator of the Year award and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of New York City’s Outstanding Dedication to Mentoring Program Development award, as well as served on various panels and speaking engagements on program and volunteer management.
