Economic Initiative

Pascale Sykes Foundation has traditionally supported social services and their use of education, coaching and informal social supports to enable families to reach their goals. As employment opportunities in Atlantic, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties declined, more families’ goals became economically centered, thus guiding the Foundation’s decision to support the economic growth desired by area residents.

Following an outline developed by local residents, businesses and governments, Pascale Sykes began a marketing campaign, first identifying the four county area as New Jersey’s Heartland because the area embodies traditional American values. The campaign’s interactive website NJHeartland.org promotes the advantages of New Jersey’s Heartland as a great place to live, to grow a business and to visit. To market your organization’s work or promote public events on the New Jersey’s Heartland website, visit the contact page at NJHeartland.org.

Additionally, Pascale Sykes has provided funding for Thrive South Jersey, to encourage small businesses and entrepreneurs to expand or establish businesses in the area.
